nokia N97 phone memory message

Please can someone help. My nokia N97 keeps popping up a message saying Chone memory full. Now i have gone into the phone memory and deleted everything. I have even deleted smses, but it still gives me that message and unless i delete another sms etc it wont let me open an messages.

How do I fix this.

My mass storage device it total empty as well

Are you using Nokia messenger? It uses alot of memory after a while. I've had that problem 3 times so far..
Ensure all applications are installed on the mass memory and use it. That helps a lil and clear out your browser cache.
Although I just format my phone using it's built in function.. Some apps disappear, but keeps most of them, the other you can just re download.

What NP said.......I hard reset my phone and re-installed as much as I could on Mass Memory.....it make a huge difference. Also, make sure the firmware is up to date 21.0.0.045 ... there is a program in there that does some memory streamlining ....seems to work quite well.
