Nokia N97 unable to send MMS?

My Nokia N97, which I have for about three months has limited capability to send MMS but has absolutely no capabilty to retrieve MMS. When I say limited capability to send MMS...it works sometimes when I reload the MTN MMS settings, switch off the phone for 5 min before restarting it. For a limited period (most probably between 5-10min) I would then be able to send MMS's before I also lose that functionality.I'm at all times not able to retrieve MMS's. I always get a message "Retrieving not allowed" when recieving a MMS. I have spoken to MTN about it, they've send me the settings I don't know how many times, but it still does not work. I'm running the latest firmware version, i.e. V20.0.019. I however had to jippo the phone to have the update, among others changing the Nokia Product Code. Is there someone out there experiencing the same problems? Please help!

I've had my N97 for about 4 months now. I have been able to send & receive sms, mms & email with no problems... I also have had to change the product code to get updates, but thats about it... I'm also on MTN, the settings that you get from them, does it have advanced settings included? like proxy settings etc...?

The access point settings' name I receive from MTN is called mtnmmsproxy so I assume it includes mms proxy settings. Im also able to send and receive sms, send e-mails and surf the web without any problems. Its just the damn MMS.
