Anyone know when the Nokia N97 will be available in SA? I know I could ask my mobile SP, but I wouldn't believe their answer anyway ...:rolleyes:

My current MTN N95 contract has just run it's 2 year course, and I would like to stick with Nokia - but would be quite happy to change from MTN (yes .. I know they are all as bad as each other)

I contacted Vodacom today. They are making it available in August.

You guys reckon this is going to be a winner?
This or an HTC Diamond Touch?

The first network to launch this phone gets me as a customer, currently on Vodacom, but wait for August, why?

Myabe v3g can give some input.

Don't think any network will be launching it locally before August. Bad thing is that although it is launcing in the US for between 600 and 700 US$ - it seems the local prices have been pre-set at between R12 000 and R15 000. That is a real pity - for that price you can get a real great laptop. :confused:

Has anyone had any problems with the camera lens or GPS?

I have read on international websites that Nokia made a hardware mistake concerning the lens cover and the antenna.
Does Nokia SA offer antenna repairs? I read that you give your phone to Nokia and they fit another antenna and camera lens.

@McGywer:
Yeah, I had my "backplate" replaced twice at CelFix in Umhlanga Rocks. They are Nokia repair agents and had the job done in under an hour at no charge to me. The "backplate" resolve GPS, Camera lens, and Lock switch problems.
