I'm trying to update the flash on my old N80 before handing it down the line to the underprivileged (one of my kids). It keeps telling me that I need a new version of the software updater, but when I tell it to download, it can't connect (Network connection lost), and I suspect that it's got to do with the proxy server. When I try to update the Nokia maps on my E71 it gives a similar message
I don't really want to download all that data at 3G data rates, and would far rather do it on the Diginet link, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere in the PC Suite that you can configure the proxy settings. Often that would mean that it would pick them up from Internet Explorer, but it doesn't seem to be doing that either, as IE is setup correctly.
I'm running WinXP sp2, Nokia PC Suite 7.0.7.0; Nokia software updater v1.3.83en; Nokia Map Loader 2.0.2.
Anyone know anyway to tell it to use a proxy? Or is it using dodgy port numbers and getting blocked by the firewall?
Any opinions and assistance gratefully accepted.
