Hi all,

There is a new build of Nokia's PC Suite available (6.6.18).
Hopefully this will solve my issues with backups etc on my 6680.

Can be found here: http://europe.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,72026,00.html

Cheers

Edit: Yeah well, didn't help at all ... Content Copier's backup feature still aborts with a critical error.

Hi B.Gil,

Personally I have not had that error, but I do get different ones:
Contact database cannot be opened
Content Copier has experienced a major problem ... blah blah blah

Search for 6680 "not responding" in Google ... there are quite a few related errors it would seem

does anyone know if Nokia ever intend to update the version for the 6600??? it's one of the few phones that doesn't work on the "normal" software

And the current (very old) version is very bad and buggy :(

I upgraded this week from a 6600 to a 6680, primarily to get EDGE. I wanted to transfer everything from the 6600 to the 6680 ... made a backup with the old software, then installed the new and after a few hours realised the 6600 is not supported. So I was wondering how I was going to get the data transferred?

Contemplated dumping everything and just beaming the most important numbers over. No IR. Mmm, ok so bluetooth ...

Browsed the 6680's manual and was pleasantly suprised by the transfer app on the 6680. It bluetooths itself to the 6600, runs there and sends everything to the 6680 and then deletes itself.

Neat.

Transfers between phones always seems problematic, but everyone can sync with Outlook.

So my one-and-only use for Oulook is this; I sync all my phones to Outlook, so not only are they always in sync with each other but it's very easy to add a new phone.

And I always have the latest backup of my contacts on my desktop.
