Nokia X is an entry-level Android device range by Nokia. The Nokia X series was announced at the Mobile World Congress on Monday, 24 February 2014.
The Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL were the first three devices announced.
All the phones are built on the open source Android OS forked especially for Nokia. The X and X+ feature a 4-inch screen, while the XL packs a 5-inch IPS display. The X+ is differentiated from the X by extra memory and expandable storage, though it's not clear quite what that means in terms of specs.
All devices are based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), but while most Android devices take people to Google’s cloud, the Nokia X will take people to Microsoft’s cloud.
Instead of Google’s applications, the Nokia X range will include Here Maps, Nokia Mix Radio, and Microsoft OneDrive (with 10GB of free storage).
