Hi

Is it possible to open a non resident account in SA if you live in America but travel a lot to SA and also planning to relocate to SA.

Is there any documents you need to provide for opening such an account.

Which is the best bank to open such an account with someone told me that FNB is the best any ideas....

Thanks

Hi @YingYang

The business is still not yet running i am still trying to sort out a few bits and pieces before we launch.

Can you please help with my question above about non resident account if you know about this.

thanks

Sorry, bud, I can't help with that.

Speak to guys like @bwana and @imranpanji who I know are not South African. Maybe they can help.

Banks will generally not open accounts without you being physically present, especially not cross border.

The only exception I've experienced so far is Investec...they're connected enough to open cross border accounts (UK - SA and vice versa) once you're signed up on either end (good luck with that part).

Also - shout out to Investec SA. Now that I'm dealing with other banks I really miss that level of service.

As a Plan B I'd try HSBC...they seem to have some kind of global mobility account in place too for the crowd earning decent coin.
