*Noob alert*why does my ping&speed improve after 5pm?

Hi, I am on a capped WebAfrica account. I get a ping of 100+(sometimes 200) and 2.3mb during office hours. The speed seems to improve after 5pm to 40ish ping and 3.5mb.I do understand that WebAfrica shapes capped accounts but will this also impact the ping?

A ping of 200 on a local server seems too high.I wish they had a system that monitors usage and shapes vs shaping everybody. I seldom go over my 40gig cap

Try a tracert to the local server and see what hop is affected. Think it was anything above 3rd hop is ISP shaping or bad routing.

Ping should never be so high locally. Something must be wrong.
