Noob help please - HTC desire

Hi,
I got myself an HTC desire, its rooted and running Leedroid 2.3d, whenever I plug it into my PC and select disk drive to put data on the phone the phone will freeze when I start trasfering the data, the data will stop transfering at about 200mb and the phone will require the battery to be taken out to get it working again. I want to flash a new rom but I don't know how to go about getting anything else onto the phone when it's like this. Will reloading a rom help my data transfer problems?

I personally don't think its anything to do with the ROM you are running. Have you maybe tried using another SD card?

No I haven't I will have a look at that, maybe I formatted this one wrongly when adding the ext partition?

Well, as I said I don't think that it's software related, cause I used Leedroid for quite a while. So that just leaves the hardware, i.e the SD card.

I will try a different SD card, thanks, on a different note how are you finding oxygen Rom compared to your previous roms?

I have run Leedroid, RCMixHD, AuraxTSense and DeFrost. And I can honestly say that for me, Oxygen was still the best, I do not like Sense and I like that the ROM is kept so clean and quick! You may not get all the modification settings that CyanogenMod has, but the themes and modifications available for Oxygen are well enough!

This is the first Gingerbread ROM that I have on, so I can not compare it with the others like Ginger Villain and the likes.

1. Try booting into recovery and mounting the sd card - i assume this rules out rom related issues.
2. If it is software related and you want to rule it out completely do a clean install i.e. wipe.
3. If you need to get the data off, you'll probably have to get a card reader.
4. Try reinstalling the drivers - long shot.

Had leedroid for a few months. Then decided to try Cyanogen. Without sense the phone is super smooth. Although i miss sense - small tweaks, like contacts app, dialer, etc. Most of which can be fixed with third party apps.
