Hey all just needed some advice concerning WoW

1. Is it worth getting? (looks good to me but im unaware of any problems with it)

2. If i buy it what would it cost me per month?and where can u buy "game days" if i cant use a credit card?

3. How much megs are used per session or (30min/1hr) and how fast should my connection be if a want to play on main servers? (currently have 3 gig 384kb adls line, bot sure if its shaped or unshaped lol)

4.if its not worth getting are the any other major online games similar to WoW thats worth checking out?

5. Finally sorry if this is the 50th thread of its kind kinda gave up looking for answers a while back lol,ty

1. Yes
2. $20 once off registration fee, $15 p/month after that. You can get game cards from take2.co.za
3. 384kb is more than enough. Withou Teamspeak/Vent you are looking at around 10 megs/hour (anyone care to correct this?)
4. There are other online games and free ones at that, but nothing beats WoW for an RPG

All sorted? Good luck!

Btw, the client is rather large about 10GB including the expansion and patches (which you will need even if you have the discs). Another consideration about bandwidth is the patches. They're usually smallish: 25 Megs or less. But occasionally you get 500Meg patches.

You will need to decide if you're playing on the EU or US servers as their clients are slightly different, especially with regard to patch downloads.

tyvm...

Ok prices dont seem to steep at all if its fora awesome game, just 1 q if i buy game now how much will i need to download to get up to date?or to even play?

the only thing is... you have to be atleast more than 5 in a group its suck to play alone unless you are like level 40

It is cool! :D

Somedays you get annoyed at other players and other days you can't stop laughing :p

Good fun!

Dont download it will take forever, decide where you want to play EU or US and then get a copy from someone.

agree with barfish, but would suggest you play EU as times are similar for end game raiding, finding parties and being a twit in /2

Speaking of /2 does anyone know what a Random Mage is? I thought I had seen most specs but this one dude last night got most upset when he kept asking for a random mage and I kept asking to explain the build :P

random mage = shadowpriest/ warlock / arcane mage/ moonkin
i.e. not fire or frost mage ;)

o_O Random mage? oooookkkk...first time I hear about this...

Didn't know.

also never heard the term Random Mage (and I play elemental Shaman).

Get the game mate! You won't be sorry.

Random mage usually means the group wants a mage for CC any spec will do.

1. Probably the best MMO out at the moment. People have raved about AOC too, but then 40% of those who left WoW for AOC returned. They key to ever enjoying any other MMO is not to touch WoW. Once you play WoW you might find you prefer it over anything else out there.

2. GBP 8.99 per month, or around R260 for 60day gametime card, which you can usually by at your local BTGames or with some online retailers likes Take2, Kalahari (I think) and there are a few others.

3. I've found if I played wow everyday and raided during the week you will generally use up your 3GB cap at the end of the month. Depending if you're raiding and using vent, you can chew up quite a bit.... 10MB/hr is probably a good average.

4. Other games out there.... Age of Conan, Warhammer (when its done), Eve Online, tried some others but never played longer than a few hours.

I really enjoy levelling by myself; or joining a random group for quests. And perhaps you hook up with a good guild and you have some buddies to help you. No need to worry about having mates to play with - there's always someone online.

Ty for ur input all this talk on mages is getting me excited lmao XD..il buy the game from look and listen guess it''l be EU version or i might just take my hdd to my mate lol...
