Now I've *finally* got my adsl line moved to my new flat I'm going to go and buy BF2 as soon as my next payment comes in.

In order to not look like a total noob *like I did the first time I played C&C Renegade* I d/l the BF2 demo and have practiced all sorts of things on my own *flying, driving, C4ing* that sort of thing.

Obviously all this will go out the window once I have a real person shooting at me and not some bot, but in the meantime can anyone recommend a good BF2 site that has tutorials etc.. on playing online. I've found a few, but a good collection in one place seem to be missing.

Any ideas?

you know when battlefield 2 released i played it for about 3000hours

i was at that moment ranked 100th in south africa and 50000 out about120000people in the world and believe you me these poeple know how to play you can't just practise a few hours a day and think you gonna shoot them they are good

but practice does help for boats and flying heli's and man do they know how to fly heli's where you really get practise is when you play online with the other people (ESRB; game expierience may change during online play...)

if i can give you tip DO nOT buy BF2 expansion it kinda sucs but i like the new extra gadgets and wepons that they have added overall BF2 is da bomb
R350 was well worth to pay and play for

btw when telkom desides to be resonable people again and bring prices back to normal i will also attend the gaming community again thanks to telkom for letting me quit their service!

Well welcome to BF2, schitz011.
Learn how to fly heli's and jets offline, just the basics so you dont crash into trees and hills:) it happens. Dont bother practicing anything else offline. You will probably hate BF2 the 1st few times online, you will probably be knocked the **** out, lol. After the first few days you will be hopelessly addicted. Also be sure to play on the right servers... let us know when you get it and we can organise a game.

I disagree about SF, everytime I play it I have sooo much fun, its like a all new battlefield2. The only prob is the servers are mostly empty but a few times a week they are fullish and its freakin awesome, and besides its only R150 or something.

The main thing is to have fun, you will learn to be a l337 player as you go along.

cheers for that..

Yeah, I'm looking forward to playing online. Watched a friend of mine play at his place and I was hooked then!

Basically I'm just tweakin my settings to see what I'm comfortable with speedwise (taking into account it'll need to be as fast as possible online) and learning the basics. Sniping especially is different to the last FPS BF2 styled game I played online (Renegade)

Just currently looking at my ATI drivers (Radeon mobility 9600) and what not. I think i'm quite lucky as my laptop runs BF2 no prob and most other 3d heavy games (not amazingly well, but well enough if you tweak)

Just can't wait to start trying my hand at fragging humans instead of bots :)

yeah. get hold of the omega drivers, they push the cards to the max.

BTW. leave all shadows on low, or off. you dont want the enemy hiding now do we:)

Hey schitz011,
What's up buddy? Good to see you're almost ready for BF2. When you get your copy, gimme a shout and I'll give ya a cd with all the patches on. That should save you having to download about 500mb. Also once you're ready come register on our clan's website. I'm sure the guys wouldn't mind showing you the ropes and a few nasty tricks. www.bfb.za.net

Take it easy and regards to the missus
