Hi guys, well I have a question about CM. I know that it's a very popular Android custom ROM and all that, but what I wanna understand is, when they say it's based on a particular Android version (CM 10.1 on 4.2.2 Jelly Bean) does that mean that particular CM version is actually that particular Android version? Like is CM 10.1 really 4.2.2 Jelly Bean? If not, what is it then?

It means exactly that - it is based on, but not identical to, 4.2.2.

Just remember that Cyanogen mod develop their own apps for things like Dialer etc, so they will use those rather than the stock google versions. However, they do merge changes from AOSP (Android open source project) into Cyanogen mod, so I think CM10.1 will more than likely have all of the features that 4.2.2 does. Any app that works on 4.2.2 will work on CM10.1.

Even the nightly builds of CM10? That's awesome then! I was really confused about that
