How can I get a Nook Color in SA at a decent price?
Seeing that it can already run a preview build of Android 3 (Honeycomb), this could be a great budget tablet.
Honeycomb for Nook Color released for download

Wantitall.co.za have it at a ridiculous price of over R4000. considering that it sells in the US or about $250, surely we can get it at a more reasonable price.
Unlike the other budget Android tablets this one actually seems to have a good quality screen and decent build quality.

Maybe there's an overseas store we can import it from at a good price? Anyone got any recommendations?

Wow, that's a absurd price.

If you really want it, I'd suggest either MyUS.com or NYBox.com. I used NYBox to ship in a Nexus S about a month ago and it cost me about $100 extra in shipping (depends on weight), but it came out substantially cheaper than anything comparable on the market here. Just make sure of the import tax for a tablet - they might nail you.

You will be dissappointed if you want to use the Nook as a ebook reader though (it sounds like you are more interested in an android tablet) - You have to have both an American IP address and Credit Card to buy books from the Barnes and Noble online store and none of the other major ebook retailers (Waterstones, Amazon) will allow you to read their books on a Nook.

At that price, why not just get a 16gb iPad? It's superior in every way. The iPad is a $500 device which costs R4400 here. The Nook color is a $250 device - it should cost R2400 or less.

does anyone know if the Nook colour has free web browsing in SA, like the Kindle?
