Nootropics

Where are you guys getting you nootropocis nowadays? The upgradedself website redirects to neuroactive.co.za. Are they the same guys?

Can you trust if the online stores like neuroactive.co.za is legit and selling the legitimate product?

Same guys, got an email from them about a rebrand...

Hi guys, I am new to the world of Nootropics myself, I came across this Nootropic in South Africa:

https://www.primeself.co.za/

Has anyone used their product before, and would you recommend it?

Too many choices out there.

Sigh.

^^^ Rather use neuroactive.co.za (used to be upgradedself). Good reputation and many here have used them before. That site you posted looks like a copycat nobody has mentioned before.

Hi guy's, actually neuroactive and Primeself used to be one company ran by 2 partners named Upgradedself!
I also received an e-mail last year from (Louis) Upgradedself and i wanted to find out more what was going on after suddenly appearing 2
nootropic companies showing up in Google here in SA.
They were partners when they had Upgradedself and for some reason they split and went both there own way. I'm not going to mention for whatever reason. You just have to take your own conclusions in who you want to continue buying from. I'm pretty sure that they both get all there products from the same source/suppliers.
Personally, I buy from Primeself because there office is on Kelvin road in Wendywood(Sandton) and that is 2 min from where i stay.
So I order and collect myself. That was also the same office when they had Upgradedself.
I did spoke to both of them to found out more what actually happened...

So I have purchased the following nootropics from Neuroactive: Noopept, APC choline and the Caffeine and L-Theanine combo.

Now either I have a very high tolerance for these products, as the effects appear to be very subtle to non-existant for me (I can fall asleep (or just feel drowsy) after taking 2 pills of caffeine at a 100mg of caffeine per pill) or they are selling me junk.

Can anyone vouch for the quality of the products these online stores are selling?

Everything I've bought has been as advertised and good quality. I can't imagine anyone trying to screw you on something like caffeine pills. Might just be an odd batch or you don't respond to it.

I usually take 1/4 of their caffeine caps... they are definitely not fake, and who would screw you on caffeine. I'm using another brand of noopept and use about 50mg per dose a couple times per day... so we all respond differently...

I just got my delivery of Noopept and Alpha GPC from Neuroactive. I'll be starting them tomorrow and I'm really hoping they help. I've been using Dormicum/Ivedal on and off for sleep and stress over the last few years and finally worked my way down to just 1.25mg tranqipam a night. Obviously all this has totally messed up my memory, so let's see if this helps!!!

Any tips would be appreciated.

Nootropics.

Chances are you'll be super into it for a few months then realize it's not worth spending more money on. Apart from some mild recreational value the cost vs. benefit of most pharmaceutical nootropics just isn't worth it. Obviously it's not the same for everyone but I've known very few people (if any) that have stuck with nootropics beyond the initial discovery & trial phase.

You exercising & eating properly (whole foods etc.)?

Well good job crushing all my hopes and dreams. I get what you're saying, a proper diet and exercise should be the solution.

I eat properly. As for exercise, I definitely don't get enough in. The thing is I'm so exhausted in the morning and after work, then it's back home and checking on the kids(single mom). By the time it's 7pm I'm so exhausted, but my mind won't switch off...hence the tranqipam.

I'm hoping this will give me a boost so I can be more clear headed and get some energy to work out when I get home, or even in the morning if I sleep better.

Spend time on a nootropic forum and it's odd how many people are trying something they're hoping will address their particular issue, and doing so by trying a mostly random pharmaceutical drug on the internet that hasn't had nearly the kind of trials and public exposure that normal medicine does. These aren't plant extracts, they're synthesized in a lab and released to the internet for beta testing; we are the monkeys.

I tried noopept, aniracetam, piracetam, coluracetam...nothing, aside from a brief bout of mania that seemed worth repeating but which never would. Modafinil was the only thing that had a use (maintain wakefulness) but also a thing I'll never use again.

Skip for 2 minutes or a jog around the block? Doesn't need to be an hour long gym session.

Imo there's almost no such thing. No drug you buy on the internet is going to provide such an aid & be guaranteed safe, especially for long-term use. Life gets tough, but it's very rare the solution is in a random pill.

I agree. The solution is very rarely a pill. But sometimes people go through stuff that's a lot more complicated and won't necessarily have an immediate solution...

Skipping for two minutes, yeah I do that. I get a solid ten minutes of cardio running with the kids. I doubt that's enough though.

I would agree that most of the people does not do it long term, and I have also not found much use for the regular things people use as nootropics - racetams, centrophenoxine, etc. Generally anything that has an acute effect. Even Modafinil I find little use for, while I do think it is good at what it does.

Nootropics is a good place to start though. I have been altering my body chemistry for years now, and I don't see myself stopping anytime. But a lot of it goes beyond what would be counted as nootropics. All of it is to elicit long term effects.

A few of the things I do find useful:
Some vitamins and minerals - Eg Magnesium
Selegiline
PQQ + CoQ10
Nasal Insulin
Peptide Bioregulators (eg Epitalon, Pinealon)
Melatonin
Hormone replacement - many things under this topic, very individual to each person.
Neuro Feedback - Not a chemical, but damn good at what it does.

The most important part is actually understanding the biochemistry of what you are trying to influence before you play around with a system and then listening to your body to see any early warning signs.

Where can one buy Epitalon or Epithalon here in South Africa / Cape town.

If anyone has Noopept experience, I'd like to hear it. I've taken this daily for over a week now but have zero response from it. I've tried everything from 10mg-40mg. I've taken the capsule, taken it sublingually, taken it with MCT oil and even snorted it (not a good look). I am especially curious if you have tried the neuroactive brand as I'm beginning to think it's nothing but filler (as i have no way of testing this) or I am just a 100% non-responder.
