Noticed since moving to MTN my signal would be really good get about 150mbps speeds, -79dbm LTE signal.

The moment loadshedding starts in my area that fresh MTN plastic tree in my area red lights go dead at the top and my signal goes to 1 bar or No service indoors.

I always figured that all base stations have to have some battery backup especially one in a densely built up area that appears to be served with fibre directly.

Phone shows Cell ID:316,352 goes dead and uses 204 instead.

Batteries keep getting stolen unfortunately
Thats the thing strange thing.
This new site was placed inside a security complex by its boundary wall. It is surrounded by 4 complexes right around it.
Imagine it is smack bang in the middle of 4 squares if you will.

I see plenty of MTN towers in school yards in my area such as Wilgers highschool or Willowridge HS.
