Hi all, I wonder if anyone else is having the same problem as me, I am in a suburb called Aldara Park, I usually get 100% signal but since yesterday my signal strength has been going up and down like a a car's rev-counter! Most of the time it sits around 50% with quick trips up to 70 or 80% and as many trips down to 30 or 40%... needless to say I can't do anything worthwhile - to log on here I've resorted back to an EDGE phone....
Customer (dis)service just said if its still doing it in 24 hours phone back - no mention that others may have same problem????
Thanks

The tower seems to be down.

According to uTraceStar I am linking off the Rand Park Ridge Tower.

I need to pick up an aerial.

Just had a quick look at the list of towers in JHB and realised that since from my last check there are couple of new towers around the Northcliff area.

My suspesion is that they have put in more towers and tilted the antennas from the Northcliff B/S which we have known to be notoriously hungry of UT's.:p

At night I used to pick up Northcliff from Soweto but recently it's a no go area for me.

Suddenly gone back to 100% (says dashboard).
UTraceStar is showing "Vorma Valley" which I'd have thought was FAAAR away it is giving 7-8/10 rating....

Just for interest sake, I gave iBurst a call and found out that the Northcliff tower is supposedly located on the corner of Mimosa Road and Shaka road.

Suppose you can tell that by the coverage map, but might be useful for aiming an antenna at, which is what I think I am going to be doing.

MTU charecters give locations now - thought it was top national security risk to give clients base station locations
