If anyone have trouble sharing internet services like http or ftp to the web or trouble with online gaming, communication software, remote control software, FIRST check if norton is running. The damn thing blocks everything, which is a cheap why to "protect" you.

Just spent 30 minutes on the phone to UK trying to help someone use some software. Turns out Norton was overprotective.

Can be tricky for novice users to turn on some of the blocked ports again. If they do not know which ports are in question then a novice will be stuffed. It is good to have the protection though but for people who don't know how it works it will be a nightmare. Also took me the better part of an hour to sort ports out on my own LAN. I can fix it in seconds now. I turn ports on and off as needed. Pretty safe at the moment.

Cheers and good luck
