Okay so norton are well known for their bloody annoying popups :( Anyway, I've gotten that problem AGAIN where it keeps telling me that my Personal Firewall is off... htf do I a) Turn this stupid warning off b) Get it through to the stupid program that I manually turned it off as it's more useless then it is useful

Here's what you do Dovi...

Uninstall Norton, Install NOD32. Simple. Elegant.

I hate norton so much.

Perhaps someone else out there has some more constructive advice? :P

lol nah I'm keeping Norton, and just to add - I need a method other then reinstalling Norton. Takes me forever and a day to get all the updates I need to redownload :(

Switch to kerio. www.kerio.com It is really cool. And it is free if you use it for home use. It can do alot more than Norton, and has a lot less problems.

i dont think there is a way u can turn those annoying norton popups off.
is it a norton popup or a windows one? with windows xp SP2, if u gt no firewall it annoys you, tellin u that your computer is not protected or sumthin like that.

but wats the reason for manually turning it off?
the only thing you can de activate with norton internet security is the parental control function. when you go to add/remove programs, click on norton internet security and click on modify instead of remove, and you can modify what you want from there, i don't know what options it gives you to modify though!
Dov, as the other people mentioned you should change norton, i know that you want to keep it, but just a word of advice, which may differ with diff people, after your norton subscription expires, dont get another norton antivirus, internet security. it really slows down your pc! but remember thats only when your subscription expires.
good luck! :)

Okay I got the stupid popup to stop after I did a virus scan with SpyDoctor, and I restarted and now they're back!!! I did another scan and it didn't pick anything up so what can I do to get rid of the stupid thing?!?!? Oh for the record they started AGAIN the second time because we had a poewr trip and somehow that triggered it off again O_o
