Well I recently have had lag which I didn't get with my old rig. I was told because my PSU doesn't supply enough power. Regardless of the lag maybe my PSU is supplying maybe to little power. Here is my rig:

ATI 5870
i5
4 gig ram
Win 7

My PSU is 600 watts. From what I was told I should get at least 800 watt supply but better if I get 1000 watt supply. Also say it is too little power, will I damage my PC but continually playing games because I can't exactly fork out R 1000 now for a new PSU.

What brand/model PSU? A 600watt branded PSU would be far more than enough required.

1000watts?!.. LOL.

OCZ 600w ModXstream is what i have. Well I was told it was too little. Also when I showed the performance of my graphics card I was told that it is under performing?!?! So I am lost to the cause of the problem.

Supply some more details as to what is happening, first and foremost. Also, a 600W PSU is more than adequate for that setup ;)

Run gpu-z in the background when playing a game and see what it says regarding your gpu clocks

I read somewhere that there are powerplay issues with some of the 5 series cards

format & reinstall ? try that ,

your power supply seems to be fine./. i see you got 50amps on the 12v rails thats more than enough since these new cards were designed to use less power than the older generation cards :D
