As far as i know the Lithium ion batteries is still pretty similar in makeup across the brands.
Your battery cell count (generally 3 to 9), degree of cpu intensive tasks and type of processor & gpu is more of a factor here me thinks.
Experiences differ but imo, among all the major laptop brands, you don't really get something that is really bad quality these days.
Brand A might for example get more internet criticisms then say brands B but then brand A might sell a lot more laptops than the others. I have seen this.
Then again there is certain laptops with better quality hinges, charger inputs ect.
Support and warranty matters a lot here. Warranty can go from a min 1 year carry then fetch and repair to lastly 3 year onsite warranty.
Some brands have limitations to on site warranty in terms of km radius from service centre where others has a national warranty.
By far the most important factor when it comes to battery life is how you look after it. Leave it plugged in all the time and it will have a shocking battery life. Let it run down properly, or even remove it when connected to mains for long periods of time, and it will last you ages. I have an HP Pavillion, almost 4 years old and I still get almost 3 hours from the battery.
