Hi guys.

I'm replacing my notebook mouse (MS wireless 4000) & was hoping to get your opinion on

1. wireless vs. bluetooth
2. microsoft vs. logitech vs. other makes
3. quality, accuracy, battery life etc

Laptop has built-in bluetooth so saving a USB port sounds cool as long as bluetooth response time etc. is acceptable. I'm a developer so I use my mouse 90% of the day & I play hours-long strategy games so it has to be solid & comfortable with good ergonomics. Has to be portable 'tho I prefer larger mice as I've got fairly large paws. Any suggestions, good experiences you've had etc?

Thx!

Wireless... got a dell m1330 with the matching dell bluetooth mose.. using internal bluetooth and when the computer strains the mouse lags..... not worth the frustration

If you need ports get Bluetooth. If you have lots to spare, then wireless. Cheaper. Microsoft does great gear, along with Logitech: can't go wrong with either. Am I stating the obvious? Sure am. Not rocket science. As to battery life, bluetooth lasts half the length of quoted time (3 vs 6 months). I wasn't keen on recharging more often. Anything that chews more power, leading to expanding waste-fills of highly toxic batteries takes priority to me. But I'm 1 in 10,000 whom actually cares. Most USB mice allow the dongle to clip back in, switching the mouse power off automatically.

Logitech FTW!!! Really the best. Cordless is fine, I prefer wireless above bluetooth.
