Notebook recommendations for approximately R3k?

Agreed, extremely good price there. I guess as they try to filter out Windows 7 stock we'll see more deals like that.
 
Game you beauties!!!

Got a call 10 mins ago from Game, they tracked down a 17" i5 Acer for me and they will have it here next week! The lady who it's for is over the moon, she's happy with the bigger screen and the price after I told her what a good deal it is.

So next week she will be the proud owner of one of these and I'm very happy for her,

Lucky fish.

Searched here in Cape Town for one of those from Game... no stock anywhere. Found an Acer i3 15.6" at Dion Wired for R4500. Damn... 17" i5 for R3999... very very very lucky fish !!!!

Best thing is I'm not gonna be required to perform miracles with that old pc of hers anymore :D
 
Laptop arrived yesterday and is now sitting on my desk. Busy decrapyfying it, running updates and installing a few apps.

I must say this is a pretty sweet machine, fast & silent. Way overkill for what she needs but hey at the price it's worth going R1k over her budget.

Getting attached to it though :D

No, it's basically just a desktop replacement she's gonna use around the house. She mentioned to me today she forgot to get a bag for it and then when't "but I can't really see myself taking anywhere anyway".

The big screen would be a plus for her.
 
Ok peeps, on the hunt for another bargain this time for the old lady's friend. Budget R3-4k. Size 15.6" this time.

If I can get a steal like that last Acer it would would be super duper cool. If you see anything of interest please post here.

A tad over budget, but ticks almost all the right boxes... no mention of CPU tho'. Hmmmmm.
 
maybe hold out for i3 cpu version?

Last time there was game special for HP I3 lappy with 3 year on site at R4k
 
That Lenovo is the one with the B815 processor. I'd go for the i3 Acer you've spotted, that's a damn good price.
