I've been setting up a couple of machines for some testing of software. All the machines have two monitors, set up using the Windows display panel - the one where you can drag and drop their positions etc. Everything is good, except on a notebook (Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook C1020) with XP Pro SP2. It has an S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR card built in.

I have downloaded the latest drivers (2003), and although I can get the same screen displayed on both monitors, I can't extend the desktop across both. Pretty useless when one is for running the software and the other is for recording comments etc..

The Display Settings tabs show only one monitor, although two are connected. I can force the same display on both using the BIOS, or through a utility program for the card, but no option for extended desktop??? The Display Settings tab says (Multiple Monitors) on S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR under Display:

The BIOS is set to share 32MB (the maximum). I've been told that is too little to extend the desktop, but I dont think that is right. This is only a 2-D application.

I have updated the chipset drivers as well in case it is a graphics/mobo interaction issue..

Any ideas??!
