Notice Period

Hello

I need some assistance. I landlord is the new owner of the property that I am in. I do not have a lease agreement with him. My previous lease agreement cancelled with the old owner and I then went on a month to month with the old owner.
I do not have a lease with the new owner. I am on a month to month verbal agreement.
I gave him notice on the 17th of August 2017 to move on the 31st of August 2017.

He is insisting on a months notice period. He is also threatening to deduct the period from the 1st of Septembr 2017 to the 17th of September from my deposit.

What can I do here.

Just pay the man his due and walk away... you had a verbal agreement, honour it...

(just saying i dont know your circumstance why you moving out but its thr right thing to do)

20 business days as per CPA from date of written notice. Pay the extra days and be done with it.
