The queen on their banknotes wouldn't have been half as bad as whats on them now.
Besides, their neighbor to the North has notes with the queen on them - still the best looking notes in my opinion.

Water damaged, they say “saved but in danger”.

The Louvre will restore the affected paintings.

The spokesperson of the cathedral said that only 19th century rosaces were damaged.
 
The largest french oak producer will donate the estimated 3000m3 of oak needed to rebuild the frame.

I was not meaning to imply this was arson, seems to be accidental, but I am saying with remote drone technology it is getting easier to set fires, and many people want to burn things down.

Surely one could somehow protect the 3 rose windows from any future fire. Clamp them in fire proof glass, won't be pretty but ...

Especially since the Presidency, ministry of defense and Parliament are just nearby.

The city center of Paris is only 13 km from a major airport as the crow flies.
At a slow speed of 300km/h (for a jet), that is 150 seconds to react.

Scramble times for military planes is about 15 minutes

Surface to Air defenses? Not sure what is known/unclassified but am sure they wouldn't just rely on air to air interception...
