Nouvelle cast iron pots

So your major players in this arena are:

  • Lodge
  • Staub
  • Le Creuset

In no particular order.

These all have a grand legacy that attaches to their marketing and thus the price tag.

Staub has an edge over the others where their Dutch Ovens are self basting due to little spikes in the lid which collect steam and drip it back onto the meat.

What they all have in common is excellent warranties.

I have used the warranties on my Le Creuset in the past and I've been stunned with the support I have received from them.

What they also have in common (and this is where your question becomes valid) is cast iron. It's simply second to none when it comes to cookware. If you've used I tin the past then you know what I mean.

Nouvelle as far as I can tell are a local brand, I don't know where they are made, I see no reference to them on international sites. I may be wrong.

Cast iron is cast iron and it's very likely to be great to cook with.

Question for you: the pieces youre looking at - are they raw cast iron or are do they have a coating of some sort on the inside?
