Nova remote for gate motor opening neighbours gate

I noticed this morning that my gate remote is opening my neighbours gate as well. Just started happening. Have had this gate motor and remote around 5 years with no issues and it has not affected the neighbours gate. How is this even possible? As far as I know this remote is a rolling code remote. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

He was adding/resetting remotes, you opened your gate.. Tada your remote now works on his gate.

Possible but unlikely.
