As for the Negative Ladies on this forum, Either come join our cause, or find out where you can un-register your nickname and GET LOST from this Forum.
1 November will very well happen, it WILL NOT stop us from MAKING A HELL OF A NOISE about it.

This just in:

Dear MWEB Member
Telkom has recently advised us of changes to the structure of their wholesale ADSL service, which will take effect from 1 November 2005. This will result in the introduction of a 'hard-cap' policy whereby all Internet access stops once your cap is reached. This affects all Internet services, i.e. browsing (local and international), e-mail, ftp etc. This should not affect the majority of our members, who generally operate within the limits of their current product cap.

We will also be introducing various new services and features to allow you to better manage your ADSL Internet usage (especially our new Booster product that will enable uninterrupted surfing). Full details of this will be communicated to you during the next few weeks.

In the interim, if you have any queries about these changes, please do not hesitate to contact us on 0860 11 22 52, or by replying to this e-mail.

Kind regards

So, our worst fears confirmed

And then another to contradict the last mail:

Dear MWEB Member

We would like to notify you that you are approaching the monthly "cap" that Telkom imposes on all ADSL users in South Africa. [6 GIGS]

Telkom requires that ADSL users be capped when the total amount of data they have transferred (local and international, sent and received data combined) exceeds their particular cap level. This capping policy affects all ADSL users in South Africa, regardless of their Internet Service Provider.

You can still transfer a total of approximately 0.25 Gigabytes of data at your regular access speed. Should you exceed your cap level, Telkom will reduce your international access speed to under 64 Kilobits per second.

Please note:

o Your local access speeds will not be reduced.
o Regular international access speeds will resume at the beginning of next month.
o You can monitor your ADSL usage at any time during the month by visiting the My ADSL Usage page

Should you have any further queries in this regard, please do not hesitate to contact our Technical Support team at 082 161 00 or 0860 11 22 52.

Kind regards

It's both in this case ebendl.

The second email is in reference to Steve's current month while the first email is referring to events from 1st November. Kinda kives us a lovely perspective on just how much Telkom is going to screw us.

Email sent, after all, what's the point in having a voice if you dont use it.

Ah, me didn't read so good. :) Just saw that the second one was for this month. Thx for pointing that out!

I just mail him aswell

can we confirm that address real?

Apparently the address is supposed to be pmashile1@icasa.org.za - I just received an reply from ICASA informing me of this - please everyone resend to the new email address!

Yeah same here. Oh well, nw, resent with a smile ;-)

I would send to both email address`s... this sounds suspiciously like they are trying to get mail away from his account.
