OK, this is a weird one..

How do I make things as quick and easy as possible when I want to resolve a payment dispute with the company accountant?

The REAL problem?

She's the company Director's wifey.

Are you scared of the director or something? Dispute the payment with her just like she were any other employee.

Husband and wife teams at work... Good luck with that. After being tagged teamed by one recently I'd say you're screwed.

we have the same situation here at work. the wife gets the clock cards and goes to her husband (our boss) to see that it all in order. she then does the wages and come friday there is a problem with someones wages. they approach the boss and he blames his wife as she made a "mistake". so between the two of them there are mistakes every week, go figure.

Had exactly the same prob this month, except I work for a bluechip company in the top 10 on the stock ex. Wifey or not, here knowledge is power do you research and state exactly what you should have received but back it up with numbers, knowledge and reason. If they see that they have no choice but to amend whatever the amount was. Business is business and if they are worth their salt they will respect that in an employee.

Ask her to go ball room dancing. Confront her there. Don't report back...

Stick to the facts. Set out the problem logically and be to the point. Rands and cents and sense!

Whatever you do, do not get emotional (angry, upset, demanding, etc) as it will go pear-shaped.
