At the end of August 2006, my signal was non existent and Sentech suggested I take my modem to NoWire Durban for testing which I did. Naritha checked the modem and said there was a fault and it must be sent to Sentech for repair, BUT before it can be sent I must pay R600 up front which I did.
6/8 weeks later Sentech had no knowledge of the modem, so I went back to Naritha and she took the modem out from the bottom draw where many many other modems were piled up. After a lot of persuasion Naritha "allowed" me to take my modem, which now works perfectly. The fault was with Sentech tower 82
Now I cannot get my refund of R600. The NoWire offices are not always open, and the phones and e-mail are not answered.
Monday I got a call ( lucky me) from Naritha that R600 would be in my bank to-day Wednesday.... sadly no R600 has been received. Something is not right at NoWire, I think this business is in trouble.
Naritha will not give me the managers name or contact details.
Trying to get something out of Sentech is just the pitts. I am on a month to month basis now, no contracts for me.
Right from the start Sentech has not been up front, very devious people to deal with. Most people jumped at the chance to have Internet 24/7 anything was better than Telkomsa, never believing that a service provider could get any worse.

Your problem is not with Sentech but with NoWire and they are NOT the same thing or even vaguely related.
NoWire is the Retail section of FastComm and they are the direct importers of all MyWirless modems and equipment.
Any modems that Sentech supply for their contract users they buy from NoWire, and send back for any repair etc.
NoWire carries the guarentee and support for ALL MyWireless modems and equipment.
Sentech does not have modems, repair modems or have anything to do with modems except supply them with their contracts.
Any signal or connection gripes is Sentech's problem but your gripe has nothing to do with Sentech whatsoever.
Tower 82 being down or any Tower going down happens occasionally which we attend to asap.

Talking about running very poorly... i get this image of Manto Tshabalala-Msimang and Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri trying to run a marathon.... its actually rather amuzing

as said, I have been told by my friend who used to work at NoWire that the Durban office is closing down, although Nowire cotinue to deny this!

OK so I have just gone into the Nowire site and guess what? Despite vehement ongoing denials to me as a client of theirs too, the Durban office contact details have been taken off the site!! Sooo... proof positive, it seems that NoWire blatantly lies to it's clients . What do they hope to achieve by such underhand behaviour puzzles me

pisceswomyn, send your case details, including details like dates, names, IMEI and receipt numbers, to [email protected] and request a REFERENCE.

(Only if you want to enrich Telkom further by making a call to a MaxiCall number, then call the NoWire Call Centre on 0861669473).

You will then have a traceable written record of this case with NoWire's centralised support department - not a verbal record with some person at a remote outpost somewhere in the NoWire group. It is more likely that your refund will be processed if their support department (in Cape Town) forwards your detailed written request on to their finance department (in Pretoria.)

But, even if you do as is advised, expect delays...

took them a month to refund me for a faulty patch atenna thing.

from yesterday i went DSL. no more stinktek troubles....

I received an e-mail from Sentech to say that NoWire is a reseller for Sentech.
My modem was given to NoWire on instructions from Sentech, and the modem was to be collected by Sentech to repaired. R600 was asked for up front before Sentech would look at the modem. Strange but true. The lady Naritha checked the modem, I did not check her qualifications she said that the modem was faulty and we believed.
After several e-mails to Sentech I got an intelligent human being who went to check up on my query and came back to say that our modem had never been received from NoWire.
Yesterday I was to receive my cheque for R600, to-day the offices of NoWire are closed. The rest is history

Thank you for the contact details for NoWire. I did send a web based e-mail to the sales department have not had a reply 'yet' I will resend plus an e-mail to the sales manager.
The fat lady has not sung yet, and I am not letting up until I have my money back.
Sentech owed me R150 gave me plenty of excuses, but paid in the end.
I get a creepy feeling that all is not well in the NoWire Sentech camp, and really should get out while I can. Sentech make too many mistakes, but are always right. There is no recourse they are a law unto their own.
Any suggestions who or what is better than Sentech.......

The NoWire shopfront in Durban may have closed, but the organisation hasn't (yet), so it is not over... unless you do nothing about it. ;)

Didn't notice your 09:34PM post before I posted! Good for you on the R150, hope the R600 comes in soon. If you like paying per month and not per meg, hold on to a MyWireless Classic package until NoWire gives it up - they are the only ones who still offer Classic packages up for grabs (although they hammer you with a R250 activation fee), but if it gets too excruciating for you, check the forum and see what other offering suits your needs the best.

Thank you for all the good advice I received a cheque for R600 refund from NoWire deposited into my bank account. I must wait for the 14 days clearance period, then I am home and dry. Rattling a few cages helps.
