On the 31st of May Sentech had connectivity problems(which they blamed on their Telkom link) and hence like many users in Cape Town , I couldn't connect.I had around 110M left on my monthly allocation and I could not use it all due to the network being down.Phoning support , I was told my account would not be credited with the 110M because "once you lose it lose it...and thats just the way it is".
Is this fair practice? How do these guys honestly think they can retain customers that way?If I had gone over my cap by 110M , would they not be swift in billing me R110 for it?

Nowire Noway

I've also had a nasty Nowire experience. Good thing is my loss was just time and not money. I got a flyer advertising the Flexilite Package at a Wits University campus promotion. The advert claimed a once off R495 for a modem and R99 pm for 150gig.
After much phoning , I confirmed the offer on the flyer with the agents, based in Pretoria. They finally sent someone to do signal test. After the signal test that agent then invoiced me with second hand modem offered for R495 and said the advert did not specify if the modem was new or second hand. Another item billed was "set up and installation for ~R280". Not sure about all this I called Nowire in Pta and they were "not sure " about agents costs and then asked if this was not the R250 registration fee. I then used my magnifying glass(honest) to pick out the 0.4mm( I have vernier calipers) font that mentions the R250 registration fee. So I would have to pay about R1000 initially and not R495.

At this point I called the agent back retrieved the contract from him and tore it up into 10-15 pieces.
Beware of fly- by-nighters " selling internet"

Classic! I'm not renewing my contract with them :)

The problem is Nowire are the only service provider selling the flexi-lite package. Because they have the monopoly - they charge the R250 admin fee.

Thanks EJ- made my typing effort worthwhile. Geoffs is right so I'll send my story to some newspapers as well. They will still have the monoply but I' ll feel better.
