Don't you think this whole appeal and re-charge and appeal and dismiss with costs is wasting the tax payer's money, the same way that the street name changes do?
I think the NPA should give it a rest now. For the love of Jesus, when will they acknowlegde that they screwed up? That was a very damning judgement in my opinion, just as the one before when the judge labelled their case 'a disaster'.

I guess when Zuma admits guilt or is found guilty and charged in a court and serves time for his criminal activities - you don't suspect for one instant that the future president of South Africa is not guilty of corruption, fraud,..... etc.?

Right or wrong, here are the official reasons from the NPA on why they are appealing
· The court’s interpretation of the Constitution and the NPA Act
regarding the obligation to solicit representations before recharging
was incorrect;
· The judgment which we consider that should be corrected, has
made serious legal findings impacting on the operational processes
in the NPA, hence the appeal.
The NPA has yet to make a decision on whether to recharge Mr Zuma.
This decision will be made after the finalization of the appeal.

Thanks to the NPA's bungling this will remain nothing more than suspicion. And I would hate to condemn a man based on suspicion alone.
He might be guilty as sin but how are we supposed to know that if they can't even bring him to trial? Don't they foresee all these technicalities before acting? After Friday's judgement I've concluded that they are not acting rationally because they are being strong-armed by somebody.

If you honestly believe that cartoon then you'll agree that the NPA should give it a rest. Clearly they are fighting a loosing battle. Why continue to waste our money with attempts at prosecution that will never materialise because even the juduciary is on Zuma's side.
All I'm saying is that this is time for the NPA to do some introspection. This is the second time now their case has been dismissed. Why are they so quick to prosecute such that they even overlook elementary procedure?

No, I dont want a criminal leading this country.
They can't just do that without affording him the opportunity to make representation to them. Maybe they don't want him to make such representations. Maybe they are afraid of what might come out of it. I think it suits their cause that he's seen as a man determined to duck and dive to avoid prosecution.
From a private source I can verify that they made an agreement with the judge to declare the case invalid so that Mbeki would not be tried for "receiving money" when the next president comes up.

Yes, I firmly believe that cartoon, and so do the hooligan clubs depicted in the cartoon, in addition to all law abiding sane citizens.
Who axactly made such an agreement with the judge - the NPA or Zuma's defence?

This is tax payers money well spent - well not that fact that some has been wasted in the process - but in that we, South Africans, do not tolerate corruption irrespective of who is corrupt.
Not the NPA. They want to see Zuma go down. This was Zuma's attorneys and the ANC (mainly the ANC).
1. Did Zuma and his hooligan clubs depicted in the cartoon overlook legal procedure when deciding to charge him or was it the NPA?
2. If the judges are now firmly in Zuma's backpocket, then how can you be confident of ever getting a conviction against him?
