Nqakula: We have a problem

Nqakula won't quit

"I am going to continue... to find answers to the problems we have," he said.

And he will continue looking for ever as he refuse to accept the truth and take pertinent action. With the lowering of the Majority age to 18 this trend will just get worse. Why fix that was never broken? Stupid @sses!

Problem indeed
It is the government's prime duty to ensure the safety and security of the people of South Africa.

"I am going to continue... to find answers to the problems we have," he said.

The good news is that we now have a minister admits the problem,he prepare & promise to find some solutions.
(IMO he has the most difficult job in the country ATM, he needs any help he can get)

Criminals are ever evolving,SAPS also has to continuously evolve to conqure the battle.

Those who say I must resign should look to what they themselves are contributing to the fight against crime.

"I am going to continue ... to find answers to the problems we have," Nqakula said.

"The people who say I must resign -- they must check how they are accountable to the high levels of crime in this country and what they are going to do."

He said there were two types of crime: crimes of omission, and of commission.

"They are saying I am guilty of a crime of omission. Are you not also guilty of crimes of omission? ... If [they] are saying I am guilty of omission, they themselves must check if they are guilty of omission."

And what exactly have you achieved that you are going to continue to try and better. One has to have at least achieved something to continue bettering it.

In terms of contributing to the fight against crime, the single biggest difference between the ordinary man in the street and those who are calling for your (and others) resignation is the fact that you have been put in the position to look after safety and security and are getting paid a fat cheque at the end of every month to do so.

To now say that the onus rests on those who are not paid to do your job is despicable to say the least.

Time you and others like you start taking responsibility for that which you are entrusted and stop trying to pass the buck.

This morning on John Robbie's show on 702 he also tried to pass the blame of the increase in the crime stats on the Security sector strike of last year. When asked whether they had foreseen whether the strike would impact on crime he said they had. When asked why, if they could use the army to quell possible violence during the public sector strike, they did not utilize these self same forces to prevent possible increases in crime over the period of the Security Sector strike, he said that they had been concentrating on other aspects of the strike. He then proceeded to avoid any further elaboration on that specific point.

Politicians. Responsibility is something that is always someone else's problem
