Hi there ...

Does anyone have a senior contact for MTN as i am going to lose my mind if i get bounced around the helpdesk again.
I requested a number change on one of my contracts 2 weeks ago in the MTN store in Rosebank, I was advised it was not a problem and then told to pay R250 for the change which i had no problem with.

I was then called the next day and told it was not possible on my contract so i went back into the store to enquire,
I was then told it was because of the contract that i was on and was advised to change the contract and then redo the number change , so i filled in the migration form and requested the number change. 3 Days later i was contacted and advised that the number change was not possible, so I decided that i was tired of all this and complained on hellopeter.com , I was then contacted yesterday by a MTN representative who apologized for the inconvenience and then advised he would change my contract and do the number change as requested, it has now been well over 24hours since and i still have no service... I called the call centre at 9 and they advised that i should wait a full 24 hours so i waited and then called now (26 hours later) and was just told that the number change failed.

How long can we keep going in circles like this????

You probably need to do this through MTN Service Provider and I suggest you start correspondence with their legal department (ask the person who contacted you for the fax details) and also consider a complaint via ICASA (icasa.org.za) and also send a copy to the legal department and the person who contacted you.

i am currently having the same problems with my 2 new contracts. I have had them over 1 week now and im still unable to use them. Im trying to port my girlfriends and my vodacom numbers to these contracts. I finally got frustrated and phoned the guy who initially did the contracts for me and it ended up me telling the guy i want to cancel my contracts (as a bluff to kick his butt into mode) and he responds saying sure would you like to cancel both??? To me that is not customer service at all! But i will be phoning his supervisor and escalating the matter. Is there anything else i can do? Complain to icasa? What will they do?
