We have VOIP softphones that we use at work, and integrates with MS Outlook (quite nicely I might add). Now, the issue is the number format of telephone numbers. It is possible to dial directly from Outlook, but that requires the numbers to be in the following format: +27 xx xxx xxxx. The space between the country code and area code, and area code and actual number is the important part. Some of my numbers are like that, but others not.

Is there a way to specify the number format in Outlook, and also is it possible to convert the existing numbers to that format quite easily?

Thanks

Is this a Personal Address Book or and Exchange Global Address List?

If GAL, then just get the admins to update the numbers to the correct format for you. I bet you will not be the only one benefiting from this.

If not GAL... there is a way to fix the PAB up, but more tricky. Will see if I can get it for you.

edit: Actually, now that I think about it, you should be able to export your contact list to a csv, delimited file. Correct the numbers in there and import it back. You might have duplicates or just import into and new contact list.
What version of Outlook is it?

Hey KD,

Its a PAB. I was thinking of doing the CSV export thingie, but didn't have the energy to do it.
It is Outlook 2003

regso, sal kyk wat ek kan kry vir jou, herinner my net moreoggend as ek nog nie jou iets laat weet het nie.

hhhmm, think the export, change and re-import will be your best bet.
or just do it manually, :D

Tried this morning, but for some reason the "Format Cell" with a specific formatting mask is not working so well, not at all to be more precise. Think I lost my touch with Excel over the holiday season ;)
