It seems that Wireless Bull **** (WBS) have imposed "max number of symulatenous connections" restriction, or something like that. I think this will explain why when P2P is up, nothing else works.

Any comments?

Open 4 or 5 webpages at the same time and you will notice that only about 2-3 load at a time.

They are definately limiting concurrent connections. Very Frustrating.

I am getting very pissed off here!

They limit the monthly usage, they limit the speed, they limit the protocols, and now they fu*king limit the number of connections!

Is there anything else that can be limited??? Have they missed something?

Is that the definition of broadband - one long liist of limitations! My old modem does perform so much better than this crap, if the local calls where included in the monthly phone line fee (as it is in the civilised world), I would have stayed with the modem connection forever! It is so much faster, reliable and better in any aspect compared to that bullsh1t!

another great broadbrand product

THE REASON TO GET BROADBAND IS TO HAVE MORE CONNECTIONS OPEN YOU ****ING IDIOTS

gawd im counting the seconds till i get adsl...

This kills iBurst for provinding a small office with internet access.

5 Staffmemebrs won't be able to send/download e-mail at the same time.

Seems as if Telkom is lesser of all the baddies.

Luis, please stop playing with matches - you will just end up burning your own house down - limiting the number of concurrent connections is just one of the matches in that box...:(

i think you gusy are high, they only limit the amount of connection in p2p, not with everythign else, if you have problems try blaming your operating system since it has a limit, which can be changed, omg all this hoopla without evidence, its crazy, you guys are just looking for any exscuse to say "blah blah fuc* WBS they're ripping us off"

go to adsl, all of you

Here i would really like to hear about this straight from wbs themselves, if true then it is absolutely ridiculus.

Why the Flying *&(* would they be offering a router?????????

WBS???????????????????? I am waiting!

Limit multiple connections??

Rubbish have run 5 pcs at the same time all doing mulitple searchs/ open windows with no problem . They have no way of knowing if there is one or ten computers connected. (Router/firewall)

Why would WBS care how many PCs you have behind your NATting? All they have to do is look at how many ports are being used concurrently, and I would not be surprised if this was as a result of setting Download Managers to use like 10 threads simultaneously.

Besides, the problem appears to have mysteriously resolved itself for now [for me that is], my point is that WBS still seem to be experimenting with the network long past pre-launch phase which is not what we are paying good money for.

wowwwwwwww stop here

first of all I never said that they are limiting the number of PCs that one can hand using the same iBurst connection!!!!!!!!

What I am saying is that they are limiting the number of TCP connections!!!! And the limit is something like 100 maybe or even more!!!! It is not 5 or 10 for sure! So if you are running crap P2P program that has no option to limit the number of connections, then you are screwed because you will not be able to open any web site while the P2P program is runing because it will consume any available connection instantly. You may get lucky every now and then after 10 refreshes to open some web page of course.

So for 5 PCs used just for checking email, should not be a problem! But run one P2P program on one of them, and everything will die instantly!!!!

second of all, this is for slimothy - it is not the OS! I am using exactly the same setup with dial-up connection as well and it works perfectly! P2P and browsing works just fine together, maybe slow, but never time outs or anything like that! So it is again the WBS ****! Don't try to convince anybody in the oposite! If it is connection limit or something else I can only speculate, but the problem is WBS again and full stop!

and today I had problems with ICQ again, disconnecting quite often, no matter under the cap or not, it is the same bullsh1t. Sites timeout VERY often! I am just wondering are they going to do something about all the problems they have implemented? Are we ever going to get properly working internet connection? Why we pay 10 times more than the rest of the world? To get 10 times less????????

well its not WBS either, well not over this side anyway, I can guarantee you that, but whatever

ok then how you explain that with modem everything works as it should, and with iBurst, there is no ICQ, some P2P don't work, now there are connection problems, timeours etc etc, countless problems and more seems to be coming every single day! What is it then?

Since I have iBurst I had 4 days that it worked perfectly, so I know it can work, it is not hardware problem, it is not technology problem, it is only the incompetence of this idiots to setup their system and their greedeness to rip us off and not provide us with any service!

here it goes the icq again :-( .... I am soooooo sick !!!!! I am going to buy Fligh simulator tomorrow and will be flying a plane into their building soon :-) :-) :-) to fry their fat greedy asses :-) :-) :-)

it is the presence of 2 shaping systems, they are balancing port shaping with packet shaping and WBS are askign you to send information in to them regarding this, so they can fine tune thier shapign rules to allow good always on access for non priority but worthwhile services, liek IRC, MSN, ICQ. Check the sticky thread abotu SSL/IRC/ICQ problems and email dylan. They are there trying to help, so help them help us... or alternativly switch to ADSL, where I hear this isn;t even an issue, that might be the perfect option for you.

But the topic name is COMPLETLEY misguiding, they don't limit connection limits, your operating system does, now let me clarify that statement, I'm not sayign the problems are your OS, I am saying the problem isnt due to them limiting connections. However when you are capped, if you open loads of connections it does mess up your speed, I shoudl mention that because they can't accuratly limit thousands of threads to an overall 64k, so soemtimes they throttle certain connectiosn to death, but I assume you are not capped.

Windows XP with service pack 2 has a 10 half-open connection limit. This does mess p2p up a bit, especially of connections are slow to open, or timeout regularly.

slim AFAIK win xp sp2 is the only OS that limits TCP connections, and that only limits half-open tcp connections(ie. not yet connected, still in handshake process), none of the fully-open(connected) connections are limited.

anyway why doesn't someone test the theory and try and do a multithread d/load with 12+ threads, see how many connect. remember to do the test when d/loading files from DIFFERENT server's as some server's may have a limit on connections to a single client....
