Number plate has been cloned

I logged in to Paycity today and saw a fine for R650. Big shock because on the same day, 20 July I got a R150 fine for speeding. The R650 was caused by an articulated vehicle with GVM > 9000Kgs. I drive a little hondatjie.
This dude was doing 111 - 115km/h in an 80km/h zone but there is no other info as to where it happened.

So what do I do? Who do I contact to get this sorted out?

I'm going to look through the pile of unpaid e-tag notices when I get home, maybe the pic of this truck is there.
 
Yes, this has happened to me too. Phoned the traffic dept and said "the car isn't mine" (because there was a photo) and immediately sorted, fine removed. The number to contact is usually listed as the municipality where the infringement took place.
 
Wait for summons then only indicate the vehicle is not yours.

Normally there is a picture, no picture on Paycity?

Pretty much this.

A few years ago my parental's number plate was stolen and used to commit speeding offenses. IIRC the perp racked up quite a bill. Father had to get an affidavit from the police station stating that his number plate was stolen, specify the details of the vehicle registered to that number (make, model, year, colour etc.) and furnish that to the respective municipality/traffic department. The fine was removed and a case was opened as a formality (nothing ever came from it and doubt anything was done).

If there are photos on the fines, it will make it so much easier to argue your case.
 
Ok...I made a boo boo on Sunday July 20. I got 2 fines on the same road, 7 minutes apart.:mad:
There are no pics on Paycity but on AARTO my Honda is featuring. So the only thing I can query is the charge detail.

same thing happened to be, but the guy with the cloned plate managed to rack up R3500 worth of fines.
I took the fines with to the traffic department (they had pics) and the told me all I could do was change my plate, otherwise this would keep happening.

In order to avoid this happening again, I landed up going for a personalised plate... but they did zero all the fines against my name in the process. Was pretty straight forward and painless...
