Does anyone have any info on MNP? I know it will be available from 10 Nov, but what will it entail from my side, and how long will it take?

I have a MTN contract which will expire in mid-Dec and I have come to realise there is ONLY one option when getting a contract - go to Game or Makro!!! Only problem is they only give Vodacom and CellC contracts and I'd like to keep my old number... so MNP to the rescue?

They give you like 3000 bucks back when you take out a contract, depending on the phone you chose!!

Why even renew? Are you that desperate for a new phone that month to month - not payg - is a bad option?

I'm never signing another 24 month contract.

I've considered Virgin for that reason - but I use my phone quite a bit so contract works out cheapest

I'm considering a virgin contract - either the v100 or v500. Each comes with the respective inclusive airtime. Failing that the other operators also offer month to month now as well.

Its the 24 lock in that I dont appreciate - I'd be more receptive if it was 12 months like other countries enjoy.

Buy a phone - even finance it separately - that way you can switch when you want to.
