Hi,

out of interest sake, I get differing opinions from different sales agent. To port a number, do I first have to convert my current contract number to a prepaid number, or should I leave it on the contract and port it?

Currently with autopage, and tired of them, being super expensive and whatnot. So they say, I should leave it on contract mode.
8ta, who I want to go to, says I must first convert it to prepaid before they can port it.

Anyone who has done this in the past tell me which is the correct way?

Thanks in advance.

you can port directly from a contract to another networks contract (or prepaid) without going the step of going to prepaid, it might be just easier to port from contract to prepaid to contract

As long as the contract is over, you can easily port directly to a new network.

Alright thx for the replies. I will take it to prepaid, just to try and make it as smooth as possible.

The contract is pretty much over, been eligible for an upgrade for 3 months now, and I am pretty sure they would call me this month and give me the option of going month-to-month.

If you convert straight to another contract you lose airtime/bundles etc which you have accumulated. So often it's recommended to go prepaid and use out that value
