Rich in energy, protein, packed with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and much discussed omega-3 fatty acids. Crunchy yet buttery, wonderfully delicious nuts are wonderful gifts to humankind by mother nature.

I want to include more nuts in daily or weekly diet, being real fond cashew, macadamia and peanuts.

apart from peanuts the rest are damn expensive, with clicks and woolies selling palm sized packets for 25-30. so currently I am buying maybe once or twice a week a packet of cashews.

- anybody know of places where I can pick up some for 'cheaper' in and around joburg

- what other nuts should it try

- recipes that i can use them in, apart from clean eating, and adding some in my salad

Well I know for cheaper prices I normally get them at Fruit and Veg City at better prices, and on the odd occasions if I visit morning or flea markets you get even better prices as some of the people selling the nuts are from West African Countries so they often give lower prices on some occasions you can also negotiate with them depending on the qauntity you buying.

Only one recipe I tried with nuts......

Pick n pay has good deals on their 1KG bags. So does Spar in fact.

I saw a bag of macadamias for R50 (1kg) in the bird food section of a pet store.
