I need to make a decision now that I have access to Netflix.

I have paid subs for nzb's for a year or two and have just used torrents for the odd download here and there.

I am now paying NZB subs, Netflix subs and DNSthingy subs.

Keeping nzb's just seems overkill - I'm sure there's enough to keep me happy on Netflix and there's not much I can't find on torrents for the more current stuff ?

You know Unotelly is cheaper than DNSthingy and supports more Netflix countries right?

People pay for NZBs?

For a good, fast NZB server with a long retention time yes. people pay.

Personally I find Netflix + the odd torrent suits me fine.
A NZB is just a XML-based file format for retrieving posts from usenet servers. When you talk about retention times you're typically referring to the USENET, aka "newsserver".

Big difference.

I'm in a similar situation, only issue is that Netflix doesn't have all the newest series. I basically only use Netflix for the odd documentary which they have a great selection.

Get a "Non-Expiring Block Plan" aka "Pay-by-Download Plan".

Pay once off and use when you need it, it doesn't expire.

http://www.news.astraweb.com/downloadplans.html or https://www.newsdemon.com/usenet-access.php

Some people do. Especially people that automate downloads using SABnzbd & Sickbeard.

E.g. Newztown VIP: http://newztown.co.za/content/7/vip/
I use a free NZB service that apparently integrates with SABnzbd but ok.

That's the only way to do it properly. If you can show me a free solution that works at full speed and has retention with 1200+ days the I'm all ears.
See my earlier post - NZBs have absolutely nothing to do with download speeds or retention.

Can't usually get full speed with my current provider. Astraweb blocks are looking awesome now.

Can someone please explain to me how you manage to pay your subscription with Netflix? After weeks of struggling with both my Standard Bank credit and cheque card, I pretty much gave up on the idea.

I'm referring to providers sorry. I don't have a paid for indexer at the moment, it's tempting but binsearch finds anything the free ones don't have indexed.

People use the file format as shorthand for USENET.

You should know that by now. Like people use chappies for shorthand of any chewing gum.

My Standard Bank MasterCard Gold Credit Card works fine.
