US President Barack Obama forcefully argued on Tuesday that he had honoured the passionate demands for change that swept him to the White House, including in the operation that killed Osama bin Laden.

On a western campaign swing, the president challenged supporters to show their commitment to his reelection bid, and argued he had done more than half of what he promised to do in his 2008 election campaign.

"Change is possible. We've made change, and we've made it because of you. And so the question is: How committed are you going to be to continue this process?" Obama said at a fund-raiser in San Francisco, California.

"You know, I keep a checklist in my drawer of my campaign promises ... and we've gotten about 60 per cent done so far – in three years, but I need another five to get the other 40 per cent done."

Some liberal voters have soured on Obama in recent years, feeling that he has not lived up to campaign promises or not been sufficiently vociferous in standing up to his Republican foes.

But Obama said that the change he had wrought included ending the ban on gays serving openly in the military, regulatory reform in the finance industry, his health care law, and his decision to finally pull all US troops out Iraq.

So much for change: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVYIfZsDCbc

I don't think it matters who is us president any more.
EDIT: It probably didn't matter for decades.

the revolution is coming!

I agree every country in the world should have a policy of neutrality. Neutrality meaning that trade goes on with them as well. I don't like the South Africa or America choosing side. It is much more complicated than "Israel has an apartheid state " vs "Palestine are housing terrorists" argument.

Obama is a disgrace. What exactly has he accomplished?

This is all my humble opinion

Lets be fair. He has done a lot of good such as the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, getting the Zedroga bill through and getting rid of Bin Laden. He was left with a horrible mess from Bush. Wars they didn't need or want, a terrible economy and huge deficit and debt. He hasn't served under the easy conditions Bush came into and while he hasn't been the wave of change he came in on, he has certainly done his fair share. He is definitely looking better than the Republican candidates at the moment. Herman Caine is leading the polls, Romney is second. Caine appears about as bright as Bush and Romney can't even decide whose side he is on. He backs bills, then says he never, then says he does. He has also had to deal with a vehemently opposed GOP. A lot of filibusters have come his way. For eg: his attempt to raise the debt ceiling was the first such attempt to be blocked in US history.

For what he has been up against I think he has done a good job. Not fulfilled his expectation but he has been good under the circumstance.

Yep, and his comments regarding the concentration camp and food and water?

Lets not forget his comments about Hamas having rockets that they fire at Israel, in any case if Israel wants to protect itself I fully support it in a sense of neutrality.

Bush set a record deficient when Obama came into office, however Obama decided to double that in 2years time, and he decided to bail banks out and go to war while the country is on the verge of being bankrupted.

His economic decisions basically came down to printing more money.

Reagan was the last great US president.
George Bush Senior and Clinton were not bad/OK.
At least George Bush Senior handled the Kuwait/Iraq Gulf war pretty good.
Clinton had that debacle in Somalia, but he handled the economy very well.
Everybody after that was a disaster.

He had no option but to bail out most of the banks. America spent peanuts in Libya and the conflict is over, Iraq and Afghanistan he inherited. He is pulling troops out of Iraq by the end of the year. The deficit increasing is a result of the problems inherited from Bush and the decisions he made to save the economy. Granted his recovery hasn't exactly panned out. I can see from your sig that you probably lean Republican anyway due to them wanting a more laissez-faire free market.

US Military Intervention in Libya Cost At Least $896 Million

not true, he could have let them go bankrupt and let the market readjust itself. In fact the unemployment increased after the bailouts occurred. The debt is mainly because of his bailout programme.

America spent peanuts in Libya
The responsibility was handed over to Nato... guess who is the biggest funder of NATO.

Not true, Obama's go green campaign did just as much harm as bush. Bushes harm didn't come because of the tax breaks, it was due to the republican monitory reforms, they actually tried to tamper with interest rates etc. In any case, Obama's plan basically came down to printing money, while they tried to hide the inflation by changing the method of which the CPI was calculated.

I'm a ron paul supporter, not your conventional republican. I'm for a total laissez-fair economy, meaning competitive currencies must be introduced and the fed must be bailed out. The financial meltdown occurred because of the monitory policy, which was a failure of government. Not the free-market, thus not a failure of laissez-fair.
