Yes, but remember the first time Obama does not do what you want or thought he should do, know that you, personally, do not know 1% of the total picture that he and his advisers will know.

I think he's awesome. Wish we had leaders like that in this country. Instead we're stuck with machine gun dancing criminals.

He's making me dizzy.

Gitmo Prison...closed
CIA secret prisons...closed

However, his poor staffers are complaining that the White House is in the tech dark ages. It's like moving from Xbox to Atari.

They're not closed YET. He gave them a year to close. At present they don't know what to do with the combatants in these prisons because there are shortages of evidence to prosecute most of them in ordinary criminal trials
yet they are known to be connected with Al Quada/Taleban/associated groups and have been active in Afghanistan or elsewhere plotting or carrying out activities which are anti-US.

Obama also appointed Holbrooke :)sick:) to be a Middle East envoy.
Let's see what happens first before we start patting the new president on the back.

I'm willing to say that most things won't change and this is just more
wag-the-dog PR spin.

He's just whipping them into a frenzy. Credit to him though. He really knows how to play 'em

stupid idea to close Gitmo... waste of money. They need a place to keep these guys. He should have just issued an order to end the interrogation tactics.

If they don't have enough evidence, then the "suspects" should be moved to a less severe section of the prison, but if they are known enemy combatants (i.e. they were captured in a war setting), they should be kept confined. If they were simply captured because of "suspicion" and there is not enough evidence they should be released... to a distant part of the world. :)

When? I always kinda thought he was a douche bag, but then I never had much respect for any of the ANC leaders besides Mandela anyway. They're all a bit on the dof side and seem to be more than a bit racist. Besides Obama is articulate and intelligent, there's just no way you could liken him to anybody inhabiting the ANC.
