Got a cheap OBD2 ELM 327 Bluetooth scantool off ebay and it works pretty good in my '10 Corsa and '09 i10, sadly my '01 Astra was one of the last to have OBD1 even though the port is an OBD2 connector. Its the C16SEL engine which uses a Bosch Multec ECU. Anyone know of a cheap scantool that will work on this car?

I think there are different ELM327 units available on eBay that might work. I specifically made sure the one I bought supports my car ECU.

What are the advantages in getting one of these tools? Can you make changes to anything or is it purely for fun?

Well on my old Astra it would be valuable because I can see all the errors it has that is causing the check enige light to be on. With other cars its just fun to look at all the telemetry. I never knew a cheap i10 had so many sensors :-)

You should see the more expensive vehicles. No wonder they're so complicated these days.

You should get a Monza GSi, none of this fancy new age computer stuff in that. It only brings down the value of the car being so complicated.

I sell the OP-COM Opel diagnostic tools for R680 if you are interested. Works on all Opels from I think '92 and does loads more than the obd2 elm327 devices.

Can an OBD2 be bought in any brick and mortar stores?

Not sure, but the Bluetooth one I bought on eBay was less than R200. Just bought a OP-COM one from Sensorei.

Sensorei FTW!

Thanks dude, I figured I needed a new O2 sensor and this confirmed it.

Now I am a bit baffled as to how to fix the other problems...

P0443 - Fuel Tank Ventilation Valve Voltage Low
(02) - Not present

P0335 - Incorrect RPM Signal
(00) - Not present

P0135 - O2 Sensor Heating Voltage Low
(02) - Not present

I notice there is a new version of OP-COM out, 131223, any idea if the activator on the CD will work with it? Seems rather pricey if you buy directly from the company that makes it. I think they want 150 Euro.
