Graphics shouldn't matter as long as the game is good.

Personally I love old games and I don't mind old graphics. I still play 90s pixelated games and loving it :)

But anyway, I think the original Oblivion still looks good today.

To some extent I agree with you. I only played Skyrim (unmodded) for the first time in 2021 and didn't mind the older graphics because the story and world were amazing. I think older Oblivion was just a step too far for me as I don't play a lot of the much older games like you do and there were so many new ones vying for my attention!

Nostalgia is a very powerful thing for me. Playing old games brings back so many awesome memories and it makes me enjoy them far more today than I did when I was a kid. Graphics schmaphics. :p

Not all games though. Looking at you GTA1 and 2...
 
You can play this game for hours and also kind of feel like you didn’t do anything :ROFL:

I’ve installed a number of mods, most are quality of life but some change leveling/loot

Mods:
Ascension
Balanced NPC Level Cap
Balanced Unleveled Rewards
Better Faster Horses
Alternative Sprint (but I actually play first person)
Auto Local Map
M to close map
Better HUD
FuzzUI
Better Inputs
Quest NPCs Run
Zorberax’s Attack Cancelling
Extended Weapon Range
 
I really like this game, but it doesn't make me think about it - for some games I cannot wait for it to be 10pm so can get a few hours in. Maybe sneak out of work at 15:30 and put in a hour or 2 before the evening events.

I think it’s because the combat is just too basic, its not very engaging 🤷‍♂️


Maybe I’m just playing the game too slowly, not progressing the story - but its so easy to do anything but the main quest :D

Never heard of it, had to google. But even on a handheld device, the games still wouldn't be for me anymore.

Yes!! an Oblivion series would be awesome. Never seen their stuff before and a lot is for games I haven't played so would be cool to see more Oblivion.
 
One of the most anticipated Oblivion vids of all time haha :p. 89 year old Grandma Shirley is finally playing Oblivion Remastered. People have been waiting for and begging her to play. She has said she won't be playing it but she clearly changed her mind:
