Hey Vio, I just finished it this morning. Yeah I enjoyed the plot was quite well done I must say.
I find the characters in Oblivion so dull though, the voice acting is always very out of place. Especially the Dark Brotherhood ppl, I mean they don't sound evil at all, they talk like the goodies do. (i.e. "Oh, hello darling, it's so good to see you again!")
This was the case in Morrowind as well, I was really hoping that Oblivion would bridge the gap between having a huge dynamic game world and having a well-written, interesting and compelling storyline involving NPC's that have some endearing qualities. I'm yet to encounter an NPC that has some kind of personality. God, can't Bethesda just hire a frikkin' professional writer and be done with it!
Anyway, Vio, have you played Planescape: Torment? A few professional writers were involved in that game, and the storyline is simply mind-blowing. I'm really worried what Bethesda's gonna do to Fallout 3. From what I've seen of their work so far they are completely inept at creating a decent storyline with compelling characters, which is what made Fallout 1/2 classics.
Also, to the ppl that played morrowind. Don't you think the interface in Oblivion is a HUGE leap backward for mankind after Morrowind? I mean, it's obviously made for consoles, but Morrowind was also made for the original X-Box and it had a great interface that worked really, really well! I just don't get it, it's highly annoying! It's just plain lazy that they didn't tune it for the PC at all, it's terrible!
Okay, rant over.
