Does anyone else deal with severe obsessions? I don't just get "into" things, if I find something that peaks my interest I obsess horribly. If its a graphics card, I will research day and night, wake up thinking about them, fall asleep thinking about them.

This falls into various subjects, tangible and intangible

Cars
Tennis
Death
Money

My entire being goes into whatever my current obsession is. Until I reach a point that I can no longer progress in my obsession at which point I will jump to another one

I have an obsession with tangled cords... I always straighten or sort them out. You should see the people at places like KFC when I untangle the keypad cord for the Card machine while in the drive through :o

Death? Sorry to say but you failed.. :)

Yeah, I can be like this too, if I get into something.

Tends to happen only with computer games and books, sometimes with other things, luckily not as much.

It is rare that I can play a computer game for an hour and then switch off. I don't often get into the mood to play a game, but when I do, I play the game solidly for days on end until I am bored of it.

Yes definitely, it's like when the idea has been planted I have to do it or else I just obsess about it 24/7. I've made various big purchases last year because of this. :/

I'm willing to bet good money we had a thread link this within the last 2 years, but I'm far too lazy to search for it.

People that leave that cheap plastic "protection" on their phones, tv's etc.

When they aren't looking I remove it.

:D

I'm the same. If I am obsessed something I made up my mind buying I can't live without it. It's like everything has to be on hold.

At least over time there are less and less things that get my exited.

don't know if you want to classify this as an obsession, but I have an obsession with washing my dishes and my laundry. even if the dishes are on the rack drying, I need to check that there is NO speck of dirt or anything on the dishes that may resemble dirt. I go through two 1.5l sunlight dishwashing liquid a month.
