Another thing .... the estate agent must be fair towards to both parties !!!
The new owners now have to find a place to live and most likely have to pay a month's rent where ever they are staying, instead of being able to move into their new home.
Perhaps think of it from the other perspective .

I would say move out, move what you can into your new place, put the rest in storage and ask some close family if your family can stay with them for a couple of weeks.
