Ok so Im in the bios and have preset some of the value for my first test if it will post, however I have come to the conclusion just before I was about to adjust the Vcore....the the MB does not allow it:rolleyes: Pathetic. In any case you can adjust the NB,SB and DRAM voltages but not the VCore*sigh*

Now my question is this....I know it may not be healthy to run the chip on an OC with the Vcore on auto as it apparently has a tendency to overvolt the chip at times(I have heard, never experienced it myself though).
Any advice..?

NVM...there is actually no point. It can't even post when OCed to 2.5ghz:rolleyes: MB is probably Overvolting the **** out of the chip. Honestly what a complete POS:) Stock it is then.

the Q8200 doesn't even overclock that well. The Q8300 overclock much better. some reviews get it to 4GHz or close to it.

Yes I know:rolleyes: But the primary problem here is the mobo...not the 7x multiplier;)(Best OC on a q8200 AFAIK is 3.5/6ghz) Have it at 2.7ghz atm stable.Running prime.

Dunno what board you are running, I would recommend getting a cheap G31 board. They can overclock fairly decently. I got my E7400 Core2Duo running at 3.5Ghz without adding any extra voltage whatsoever.

Asus P5Qpl-am G41 mobo. The one you have...which is what I was gonna gat has been discontinued IIRC. In any case, it's my GFs pc so it will do as it is now for what she uses it for. I'm still a bit p!ssed though:)
