Got one of these over the weekend, it blew away all my expectations. This WILL be amazing... can't wait to see the world in a few years with the likes of Oculus/ Vive/ Hololens

I played around with a DK1, and that was already impressive, despite it's low res.

Site line chair, Livingroom roller coaster, The Room, Riftmax theatre, vorpx if you can afford it - theres lots of stuff out there

Is VorpX worth it? Updated GPU yesterday to a GTX 950 (got it at 30% off on Takealot)

I have yet to experience a VR headset, but have already upgraded my PC in anticipation.

It is very hard to trust journalists about how "next level" and amazing these VR experiences are. I am even more suspicious when I see these "tech demos" at trade shows with stupid things like "bake a cake" and "watch a whale swim by". Is that all the technology can do? It makes me think real immersive, detailed 3d worlds and regular games are not yet possible.

Can you honestly say it is better than playing a game on a good monitor? Do you find yourself actually believing you are in a physical open space and are not distracted by technical limitations like screen door effect, lag and lack of smoothness and detail? Do you see yourself getting tired of the roller coaster and other gimmicks pretty soon and then it's just a R6k paperweight? Or is there really limitless potential to what games and experiences you can have?

I can't wait to try a VR headset. There was vague mention that there might be some at RAGE - does anyone know for sure?

Vorpx is very fiddly, if you're willing to tinker then the likes of skyrim can look pretty amazing but there are free alternatives. I hate to say it but your gtx 950 is pretty weak for the oculus - or gaming in general. GPUs are hellishly expensive though

I can honestly say VR is the future, Oculus blew my mind. It has a long way to go but it will be amazing. PS full games are possible and already exist, you just need a really good graphics card

Rift is amazing, you need to try HalfLifeVR if you haven't already.

It's not even in the same league.

Tell me about it :) once the final CV of the Rift is out, I'll upgrade to the required specs. Just need to stretch the legs on my aging PC (full upgrade is around December)

Hi guys. Does anyone know where I can get an oculus rift second hand in Gauteng?

I'm in Cape Town, but am selling my DK2, and willing to ship. It's pretty much new -. bought it just before having a baby, sadly time for games since been very limited!

PM me if you're keen, I can send you more details.
